Brand My Plane — Privacy Policy

This policy is for brandmyplane.com, run by Brand My Plane, LLC (“we,” “us”), an Ohio limited liability company in northeast Ohio.

This site is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child gave us information, email us and we will delete it.
What we collect
We collect what you give us and what the site needs to run a bid:
- name, email, and account details
- bid amounts, which spots you bid on, and whether you won
- logo or mark files you upload, and the company or bidder name you want shown
- messages you send us
- technical data such as IP address, browser, device, and cookies or similar that keep you logged in or remember a session
- payment status (hold, capture, refund, last four digits, card brand). We do not store full card numbers. Stripe processes cards.
We do not ask for your Social Security number on this site.
Why we use it
- to run the sale, place or release holds, capture winning bids, and issue refunds
- to approve or refuse marks, and to paint, photograph, and show approved marks if the campaign succeeds
- to email you about your bid, a hold, an outbid, a charge, a refund, or a status change that affects your money
- to keep the site secure and to prevent fraud
- to meet tax, accounting, and legal duties
- if you ask for campaign updates, to send those (you can unsubscribe from marketing)
We do not sell your information. We do not share bidder lists for others to market to.
Who else sees it
- Stripe, to process payment. Stripe has its own privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
- the paint shop, photographers, and people helping us run the campaign, only as needed to do the work
- hosting and email providers that store the site or deliver mail
- a court, regulator, or law-enforcement request we are required to follow
- a buyer of the airplane or of this project, only as needed to honor a painted-mark license that already exists
Brand My Plane, LLC is the merchant. We do not take your money to send to someone else as a transfer service.
Cookies
The site may use cookies or local storage so you stay logged in, so a bid form works, and so we can see basic traffic. You can block cookies in your browser. Some bidding features may not work if you do.
How long we keep it
- bid, payment, and refund records: as long as we need them for taxes, disputes, and the campaign (typically at least seven years for money records)
- logo files: while you have an active bid or a winning mark, then as long as the mark is painted or still in campaign photos
- marketing email: until you unsubscribe
- server logs: a short period unless we need them for security
Your choices
Email scott@brandmyplane.com to:
- see what we have about you
- correct it
- delete it (we may keep what the law requires, such as a payment record)
- ask us to stop marketing email
Transactional mail about your money or your bid is not marketing. We still have to send that if you have an open bid or a refund coming.
If you are in a state that gives extra privacy rights, email us and we will handle the request in good faith. We do not sell personal information. This campaign is not meant to meet California “do not sell” thresholds; we still will not sell your information.
Security
We use HTTPS and Stripe for cards. No site is perfectly secure. Do not send card numbers by email.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date will change. If we make a material change, we will post it here.
